Sunday Storylines

Rory Sabbatini
This is Sabbatini’s tournament to win, but he’ll have everything but the kitchen sink thrown at him today—Mother Nature is adding rain to the wind, the par-4 6th has driven players mad, the “Bear Trap” will add to the carnage, and some confident competitors will be chasing him down. With rain in the forecast, it will be imperative for Sabbatini hit fairways early and often. The rough around the Champions course hasn't been too much of an issue to this point, but the rain will make things much more difficult for the field.

Sabbatini was once quoted as “wanting a piece of Tiger Woods” and when he got him, he melted. On the hand, Y.E. Yang has been there and done that; taking him down in the 2009 PGA Championship. Surely, he will not be intimidated by Sabbatini.

Jerry Kelly, who saw the benefit of a questionable rules calling, will look to capitalize on his good fortune. Kelly has hit more than 65% of the fairways this week and is rolling the rock well enough for him to be a factor.  At forty-five, Kelly will also bring a lot of experience to the final group.
