Bjorn cruises to victory

Commercialbank Qatar Masters
Doha GC
Fourth round

Thomas Bjorn birdied three of the last four holes to put away the 2011 Qatar Masters at -14. Conditions improved each day and so did the scoring. Bjorn made four bogeys in his first 18 and just one over the next 54. Bjorn’s closest competitor was the Bubba Watson of the European tour—Alvaro Quiros (-10). Those in the states might remember Bjorn, not for his 10 previous European tour wins; but rather the scandal of being accused of fathering a child out of wedlock that surfaced at the 2010 Ryder Cup.

Tim Rosaforte tweeted this message this morning:

"Thomas Bjorn told swing coach Pete Cowen two weeks ago that he couldn't compete anymore and wanted to retire, but couldn't afford to."
