Pairing to watch:

7:32 AM
Points, D.A.
Johnson, Dustin
Stricker, Steve
This will be a fun pairing to watch. D.A. Points is looking to keep the “Cinderella” story going. DJ bombs it and will look to rebound after a poor defense at Pebble Beach. Steve Stricker is making his 2011 PGA debut and is the defending champion.

8:45 AM
Lyle, Jarrod
Summerhays, Daniel
Compton, Erik
Anytime Erik Compton qualifies, I’m watching. Two-time heart transplant recipient qualified on Monday to get in and is a guy everyone should be rooting for.

7:32 AM
Mahan, Hunter
Day, Jason
Laird, Martin
Mahan made a serious charge on Sunday at Pebble Beach. Let’s hope he continues throwing darts. Jason Day is poised to have a break-out season and Martin Laird is a quality player; he will surprise most fans in the states with his game.

12:01 PM
Watson, Bubba
Kim, Anthony
Couples, Fred
There are some generational forces at work in this pairing. Fred Couples persona speaks for itself. Let’s hope his back holds up. Bubba has come down from his win in San Diego and AK seems to finally have his priorities straight. Both will look to play well for their Presidents Cup captain.

12:12 PM
Mickelson, Phil
Casey, Paul
Donald, Luke
Casey has already has a win in the bag and Luke Donald’s game is perfect for this course. Two-time winner at Riviera, Phil Mickelson will look to chalk up a win towards his magic number of 50 career wins.

12:54 PM
Pavin, Corey
Overton, Jeff
Fowler, Rickie
A little post Ryder Cup action here—how can anyone forget Overton yelling “BOOM BABY!” after sinking his shot from the fairway? Fowler is desperate for a win and he has some good Ryder Cup mojo working in his favor. Corey Pavin is a professional ball striker and that is exactly what is required at Riviera CC.
