The Heritage, played two weeks after the Masters at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, SC, has been a popular venue amongst players because of its laid back Hilton Head flavor. Many players bring their families and make a vacation of the week a la the Tournament of Champions event that kicks off the season in Hawaii. The Heritage was in trouble the minute Verizon announced last year that it would not renew its sponsorship after 25 years.
